Conflict Minerals Policy

There has been increased awareness of violence and human rights violations in the mining of certain minerals from a location described as the “Conflict Region”, which is situated in the eastern portion of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and surrounding countries. Companies around the globe have been requested to practice reasonable due diligence with their supply chain to assure that specified metals are not being sourced from mines in the Conflict Region, which is controlled by non-government military groups, or unlawful military factions.

Advanced Machining Techniques, Inc. supports this initiative and has either obtained, or is in the process of obtaining, information from our current metal suppliers concerning the origin of the metals that are used in the manufacture of our customer products. Based upon information provided by our suppliers, Advanced Machining Techniques, Inc. does not knowingly use metals derived from the Conflict Region in our products.

Suppliers will be required to declare that all products supplied either:

  1. Do not contain tantalum, tin, tungsten or gold that are necessary to their production or functionality, or,
  2. If they do contain these minerals, they originate from non-conflict areas or from smelters that have been validated by an independent private sector party to be conflict free.

Our Commitment:

  1. Do not knowingly procure specified metals that originate from facilities in the “Conflict Region”.
  2. Ensure compliance with these requirements, and ask our suppliers to undertake reasonable due diligence with their supply chains to assure that specified metals are being sourced only from: Mines and smelters outside the “Conflict Region” or Mines and smelters which have been certified by an independent third party as “conflict free” if sourced within the “Conflict Region”.

As a leading supplier to OEM’s, Advanced Machining Techniques, Inc. is committed to ensuring the safety, health and protection of people and the environment worldwide. We promote these principles in our business practices and our code of conduct.
